The Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information and Communications Technology held a scientific seminar entitled “The Relationship Between Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.” The seminar was prepared and delivered by Asst. Lect. Rasha Ali Hammoudi and Asst. Prof. Rana Aziz Yousif on Monday, 17/11/2024, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and staff of the institute and the university.
The scientific abstract of the seminar addressed the pivotal role of mathematics as the backbone of artificial intelligence, as it contributes to transforming complex data into models that can be analyzed and implemented. It also provides precise tools for prediction and decision-making. In addition, the seminar reviewed the role of artificial intelligence in advancing the field of mathematics.
The presented topics included the role of artificial intelligence in:
intelligent educational systems, automated grading of mathematics assignments, discovery of new theories, solving differential equations, improving numerical methods, generating and analyzing statistical data, mathematical modeling, optimal control, symbolic analysis, predicting patterns of sequences and numbers, as well as its applications in financial and economic mathematics.
