Institute of Informatics
for Postgraduate Studies
The Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies was established under Law No. (6) of 1997 and under the Law of the Iraqi Computer and Informatics Authority No. (11) of 2002 and was considered one of the formations of the Iraqi Computer and Informatics Authority. The institute specializes in theoretical and applied studies in the field of electronic computers and information technology, and the institute awards higher diplomas, masters and doctorates in computer science.

In the context of implementing the trends aimed at caring for the quality of higher education and improving its outcomes to meet the needs and in accordance with national, regional and global requirements, the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies has been keen to give exceptional priority to the processes of renewal, modernization and dynamic change of the curricula, visions and goals of the institute.
In an era in which advanced computer technologies have spread throughout its corners, the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies – Iraqi Computer and Informatics Authority is making its way towards excellence, progress and prosperity, taking upon ourselves.

- Contribute to supporting digital transformation and e-government through the provision of scientific and technological solutions that enhance the performance of state institutions.
- Support scientific research and applied research in the fields of informatics, contributing to addressing national challenges and meeting the needs of society.
- Prepare and qualify specialized scientific and research professionals in the fields of informatics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity in line with scientific and technological advancements.
- Strengthen the role of faculty members and researchers in enhancing scientific productivity and research impact, while contributing to the development of a knowledge-based society and reducing the knowledge gap.
- Foster scientific collaboration with ministries, government institutions, universities, and research centers, while promoting the transfer of expertise, advanced technologies, and knowledge exchange.
- Promote a culture of innovation and investment in scientific research and its applications to support sustainable development and enhance the quality of higher education and postgraduate studies.
