The Master’s thesis of the student (Raghad Hassan Aboud) was discussed at the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies, and the discussion session was held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 AD. The study was specialized in Computer Science and was titled: “Lightweight deep learning model for retinopathy classification” “Classification of retinopathy using a lightweight deep learning model.” This thesis presents a multi-classification system for diabetic retinopathy images that relies on implementing a convolutional neural network and three deep learning models by transfer VGG-19, DensenNet-121, and EfficientNet-B6, with three optimization methodologies: pruning, quantity awareness, and weight pooling, to produce an efficient and lightweight model that can maintain classification accuracy and can be deployed in resource-limited environments. The student, Raghad Hassan Aboud, obtained a Master’s degree with a grade of (Very Good) in Computer Science.
