An awareness seminar on combating drug abuse was held at the Institute of Informatics as part of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week activities.

The Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications held an awareness seminar on Sunday, November 16, 2025, coinciding with the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week.

The seminar was presented by Dr. Haider Hassan Safi, a faculty member at the Institute, and was attended by the Dean of the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Suha Mohammed Hadi, and all members of the Institute. The seminar addressed the dangers of drug abuse to individuals and society, its health and social consequences, and highlighted the efforts required from the state and educational institutions to curb the spread of this phenomenon.

The presenter also emphasized the importance of early awareness and strengthening the role of the family and the educational environment in protecting youth, noting that combating drug abuse is a shared responsibility that requires broad community cooperation.
