A Master’s Thesis Discussed at the Institute of Informatics on Accelerating International Trade between Europe and Iraq Using Data Mining Techniques

A Master’s thesis by student Asmaa Abdulaziz Dakhel was discussed at the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications. The discussion session was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The study, in the field of Computer Science, was titled:

“Accelerating International Trade between Europe and Iraq in the context of The Development Road project based on data mining methods.”
The research proposed using machine learning algorithms integrated with data mining algorithms such as the Random Forest algorithm, the Support Vector algorithm, the Nearest Neighbor algorithm, and the Decision Tree algorithm, comparing their performance. The Random Forest algorithm was also improved. Given the importance of the trade balance and the lack of previous studies on accurately predicting the trade balance, data mining techniques were employed.

The student, Asmaa Abdulaziz Dakhel, was awarded a Master’s degree with a grade of “Very Good” in Computer Science.
